Impel Big BANG 2011

Big BANG- You bet and I bet , you thought it's about the theory of the origin of the universe stating that its existence is around 13.7 billion years ago from the time Big Bang occurred. Hey, I'm not talking about the proposed name by Georges Lemaitre neither the rich milk chocolate with chewy nougat and crunchy rice crispies…in short the chocolate bar of Universal Robina Corporation. Well, well, well. It's the Mantra that has to be engraved in our hearts and to be carried out in this Year of the Rabbit 2011- A placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger
So, what does this Big BANG stand for?
B- for Balancing Life
A-for Aligning goals in His will
N-for Nurturing relationships, and
G-to Glorify God

Sitting blankly on a chair in Rm 1019 of the Parish Church, shamefully... a latecomer again then suddenly the words banged me. Yeah, right 2011 must be something new. And just in time, I was thinking how to start this blog just as how to start the year sooo right. And two snaps, this is it.

  1. For all of us, balancing life is a tough, formidable thing to do. Happiness as they say is not a matter of intensity but of balance. So in order to avoid being "off balance", we need a helicopter view to bring things back into balance and a tool commonly used by professional life coaches - The Wheel of Life.  All we have to do is just to make a list of all the areas of our lives like Home/Physical Environment, Partner, Career/Business, Growth/Learning, Health, Family & Friends, Community, Fun and Spirituality. The Wheel of Life is powerful because it gives you a vivid visual representation of the way your life is currently, compared with the way you'd ideally like it to be. It is called the "Wheel of Life" because each area of your life is mapped on a circle, like the spoke of a wheel. In the end, you will need to make choices and compromises, as your time and energy are not in unlimited supply! Once you have identified the areas that need attention, it's time to plan the actions needed to work on regaining balance. Make a commitment plan and wite them down. In this case, discipline is a must.
  2. Alignment-Before you map out your goals, determine the priorities (not the shoulds) in your life that you’re not willing to sacrifice. This way, you can identify the activities you need to engage in and what you are willing to give up today (maybe even a conscious, short – term sacrifice of certain priorities) in pursuit of a bigger dream tomorrow. What I mean with not the shoulds-well, sometimes we are setting goals because of what we have seen from others and we think that's what we should do, too. But in the end, you'll feel miserable. So, cut the should thoughts and you’ll find the process of working towards these goals more enjoyable and fulfilling, without feeling as if you’re continually pushing for something to happen. Instead, you’ll be pulled towards your goal with less of an effort.. Lastly, we've got to bear in mind that everything is in God's will. Ask his guidance to achieve our goals in life.
  3. Nurture relationships- There you go, you have it in the Wheel of Life but would you just leave it plainly? Relationships are fragile things and do not blossom and grow without work. There are a number of basic principles which, if applied, will strengthen any relationship. These include making time for each other, good communication, willingness to listen, compromise, and mutual respect. Check if you have missed one of these, then make it up.
  4. Glorify God- As what we have read from Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life...What on earth Am I here for? First chapter starts with It's not about you. Wake up kid, come on, you are not the star on this planet earth. It's Him and only Him.That is why we are created here. To glorify God.  Question: Then How to glorify God? Here are some steps:        Take the good news, Lift Him up, Bow and kneel down, Worship Him, Sing songs and remember His laws, Give Offerings, Fear Him, Magnify Him, Acknowledge God in all your ways, Work God's plan, Do not be slothful, Love others, Proclaim Him, and Be Happy as God is glorified when you are satisfied.
You got your New Year's Resolutions, a 100 list of Wannabees? I just got four in my pocket, and that's my Big BANG! But whatever it may be, we are united to welcome 2011. May it be a fruitful year for ALL OF US.
